BIOGRAPHY
Born the youngest son of a Church of God pastor, Stephen Phillips was raised in the church. He grew up with church being his life, and he learned how to be religious, and how to play the part of a good Christian. But something was missing.Blessed with an amazing vocal ability, Stephen began to explore the realm of praise and worship. Through his worship, Stephen opened his heart to God and God birthed a passion for worship in his spirit. He realized that simply playing church would no longer suffice.
When he was 18, Stephen became the Worship Pastor at his father's church. He began to teach the people how to worship God and how to submit to the will of the Holy Spirit. And God began to move. Change had come to the church. And the best was yet to come.
Since that time, God has called Stephen to ministry at a new church and he continues to lead people into the presence of God. Stephen teaches that true worship lies in submission and that when we enter into real worship, we must be changed. We can't step into the real presence of God and experience the real awesomeness of the Lord and still be the same person that we were. We forget about our made up tongues and begin to worship the Lord in spirit and in truth. We stop playing pretend and we humble ourselves and seek the face of God. We stop worshiping our own vanity and the weakness of our flesh and we beseech the throne of heaven for salvation and mercy.
Stephen teaches that a real worshiper doesn't come to God asking for something. They come in humility with the mentality of never giving up. He says that the true worshiper will worship regardless of circumstance. That breakthrough comes through worship. Stephen lives with his beautiful wife Jacinta in Ashville, Ohio. He is the Senior Worship Pastor at House of Blessings in Grove City, Ohio.
